01

Folkepension: use your personal estimate

Denmark's public pension includes a basic amount and a pension supplement. Other pension or investment income can affect the supplement, and residence history can affect entitlement. Get a personal estimate from the official service; this tool does not apply income tests or assume a maximum payment.

02

ATP: a separate payment

ATP Livslang Pension is separate from folkepension. Use your own ATP estimate and payment date. A small entitlement may be paid as a lump sum rather than monthly income. Do not convert a one-off payment into lifetime income in this calculator; it does not model future lump sums.

03

Workplace and individual pensions

Danish schemes can have different payment forms and durations. Use PensionsInfo and provider statements to identify the dates and amounts. A time-limited payment needs an end age, while a continuing payment can use zero. Do not treat locked pension capital as money freely available for an early retirement bridge.

Using the calculator

  1. Gather separate estimates for folkepension, ATP and workplace or private pension payments.
  2. Enter net monthly income and spending in today's DKK. Pension portals may show gross amounts; check and adjust the basis before using them here.
  3. Review the folkepension estimate if other income changes. Changing an input here does not recalculate public benefit supplements.
