01

Allmän pension: the public part

Swedish public pension includes income pension and premium pension, with other components depending on your circumstances. Pensionsmyndigheten administers the public pension. Use a personal projection, rather than applying a percentage of your current salary to estimate retirement income.

02

Tjänstepension: check the payment period

An occupational pension comes through employment and may involve several providers. Some payments continue for life; others cover a limited period. Pensionsmyndigheten advises checking your choices with each provider. The amount in the first year can therefore differ from income much later in retirement.

03

Accessible savings are another resource

Use minPension to understand your pension forecast, then separate money you can freely draw on. Do not enter a pension insurance balance as liquid savings while also entering its pension payment. This calculator does not determine access rights, guarantee pension or housing supplement eligibility.

Using the calculator

  1. Collect forecasts for public and occupational pensions at your chosen withdrawal ages.
  2. Convert the inputs to net monthly amounts in today's SEK. Check the tax and purchasing-power basis of each forecast.
  3. Give a temporary occupational pension an end age. Compare the income gap before it starts and after it ends.
